Growing Minds: How Aquaponics is Revolutionizing STEM Education

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Gulf Research Program has awarded the school a whopping $405,000 grant to establish the initiative, known as Greauxing STEM-Stewards.

The project is designed to develop scientific and environmental literacy among students, teaching them about aquaculture, conservation, and environmental issues that affect their local Gulf Coast communities. The innovative approach involves growing catfish and lettuce in a controlled environment using technology-based farming interventions.
