Gun-Toting Man Detained Near Trump Rally in Coachella

A 49-year-old man from Las Vegas was arrested near a Donald Trump rally in Coachella, California. The man, Vem Miller, was found with a loaded shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine. This incident happened at a checkpoint near the intersection of Avenue 52 and Celebration Drive, just before 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Miller was taken into custody and later booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center. He was charged with possessing a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department handled the situation, ensuring the safety of former President Trump and the rally attendees was not compromised. Miller was released on a $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Indio Larson Justice Center on January 2, 2025.
