Celina, a rapidly growing city in North Texas, has just seen a significant land deal. A major health care system, Texas Health Resources, has bought 21 acres there. The land, located at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Collin County Outer Loop, was sold by Tollway Celina 45 Partners. The details of the purchase price remain undisclosed.
Matthew Kiran of REX Real Estate handled the sale, while Brent Wicker, Randy Church of Wicker & Associates, and Gifford Touchstone & Company Realtors represented Texas Health Resources. The deal was finalized on October 23, according to Collin County records.
Though Texas Health Resources hasn't solidified their plans for the land, REX Real Estate expects it to become a hospital or health campus. This potential development could be the fourth hospital site in Celina to be purchased by North Texas health care providers.
Texas Health Resources, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare system, serves 16 counties and over 7 million people in North Texas. The company is known for expanding its services in the region, with a recent announcement of a 60-bed hospital in Forney.
Celina's rapid growth is noteworthy. Between July 2022 and July 2023, the city's population exploded by 26. 6%, well above the national average of 0. 5%. This surge underscores the need for more healthcare facilities in the area.
"Buying land is standard practice for us in North Texas, " said Kimberly Walton, a spokesperson for Texas Health Resources. "As the health care market leader, we aim to grow with our community. "
