The heat-tolerant cucumbers (Gy14) make more of something called phenylpropanoids, which help them deal with the heat. These plants also started making more flavonoids, which are like little helpers that protect the plant.

But it's not just about making new things. The heat also affects how the plants make a hormone called gibberellin (GA). When the scientists added some GA to the plants, they saw that it helped them deal with the heat better. So, in a way, these cucumbers are like tiny superheroes. They have special powers to deal with the heat, and scientists are learning more about how they do it. This could help us grow better cucumbers in the future.
