Heat Wave Brings Unusual October Temps to Bay Area

The Bay Area is experiencing an unusual October heat wave, with temperatures set to soar on Tuesday and Wednesday. Oakland will reach a scorching 96°F, while San Francisco will hit 91°F. What's causing this heat wave? Some areas are expected to break records set decades ago. Livermore, for example, could tie its 1952 record of 102°F, while San Jose might reach 97°F, matching its 1980 mark. Half Moon Bay could also tie its 2014 record of 83°F. The heat wave is expected to continue through the weekend, although the inland areas will feel the heat more gradually. San Francisco is included in the heat advisory, with temperatures expected to reach 90°F on Wednesday.
