Denver is bracing for a string of scorching days, with temperatures expected to hit the 90‑degree range across low elevations. The National Weather Service warned residents to drink plenty of water and avoid heavy outdoor work while the heat stays high from Sunday through Wednesday.

• Peak temperature: 93 °F – just shy of the city’s June record of 98 °F.

Monday:

• Cool to 88 °F, still about ten degrees below the record.
• 2 p.m.–5 p.m.: Chance of thunderstorms over the city.
• While Denver itself is not in the severe thunderstorm risk zone, nearby areas such as Fort Collins along Interstate 25 could experience hail larger than a golf ball and damaging winds.
• The greatest danger is expected over the northeastern plains, where severe storms are most likely.

Tuesday:

• Temperature could reach 95 °F, matching Denver’s June 9 high.

Wednesday:

• May see 92 °F, a week away from the July record of 99 °F.
