Hillsborough HS to Hire New Security Officer for Better Student Safety

Something big happened at Hillsborough High School. The Board of Education decided to create a new job called a building monitor. This decision was made at a meeting on Monday night. The main goal is to make the school safer for students. The board thinks that having another person to watch over things will be really useful. This new person will start their job on October 29. The board said that they didn't plan for this job earlier, but they think it's a good idea now.

One of the board members, Cynthia Nurse, talked about why they needed this new job. She said that there are some doors between the 300 and 800 wings of the school that aren't working the way they should. Too many students are trying to get through, and it's causing problems. Nurse said that they tried locking the doors, but that didn't fix the issue. So, they thought it would be good to have another person there to help until they can find a better solution. Maybe something like building a different door or making some changes that don't need extra people.
