Holiday Inclusion: Why Neutrality Matters
Washington, DC, USAFriday, December 20, 2024
But every year, some people complain about a "War on Christmas". They think saying "Happy Holidays" is an attack on their religion. It's not. It's just a way to include everyone in the celebration. After all, Christmas isn't the only holiday this time of year. There's Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice too.
The problem comes when the government gets involved in religious displays. Like when they put up a Nativity scene. That's not neutral. It's like saying one religion is more important than others. And that's not fair.
Some people might not like it when the government stays neutral. But that's the whole point. It's about treating everyone equally, no matter what they believe. And that's something we can all agree on, right?
