They measured leaf temperatures and ant visits. They also checked the sizes of the sweet treats (EFNs). Turns out, the temperature of the leaves matters more than the size of the treats. When it's hotter, fewer ant species are around, and those that stick around have less variety in how well they handle the heat. So, as our planet warms, these helpful ant-plant partnerships might become more vulnerable.
