The last bit about chaos is something that is worth thinking about. It is important to remember that Trump has, in the past, been backing court decisions when they favor him. As we can see, court rulings have already created friction. In the case where the judge stopped the “department of government efficiency” from accessing the treasury department’s central payment system, the consequences of such a ruling had far-reaching consequences. The ruling was issued after the lawsuit was filed by 19 attorneys general in Democratic states. Elon Musk wanted to seize control of the treasury system but was impeded by a judge.
Judges have been instrumental in halting measures that were passed by the government. Such measures include the birthright citizenship for children born to undocumented immigrants and transferring transgender female inmates to male-only prisons. Such decisions emphasize the importance of the judiciary in decision-making processes.
However, the most unfavorable reaction came from the Republican party after the ruling was issued. But the real question is: what is the real impact of this ruling? Some decisions include those that would delay the freezing of federal spending and releasing the identities of FBI agents who were involved in the January 6 insurrection. It is worth noting that such rulings are the most stringent measures for avoiding government abuse of power. One could argue that without such measures we would have no protection from the possible abuse of power afforded to the government.
