How Opinions Spread: The Power of Leaders and Sources

But here’s the thing—most models only look at one network at a time. To fix this, we’ve come up with a new way of looking at things, called the Two-Step Model. This model looks at how messages move between sources, leaders, and normal people.

We found that a lot of things affect what people think in the long run. Like how messages are shared, what people thought at the start, how stubborn they are, and how much they like certain ideas. Normal people often follow what their leaders think. We tested this model with numbers and social experiments, and it worked better than other models. This gives us a sneak peek into what makes people tick and can help us guide opinions in a smart way.
