How Sericin and Hydroxychloroquine Team Up to Fight Lung Cancer in Mice
SwitzerlandSaturday, December 14, 2024
So, what did they do? They split male Swiss albino mice into different groups and gave them various treatments. When mice were exposed to DEN, their lungs became both stressed and inflamed. But, when treated with sericin and HQ together, the lungs calmed down. These superheroes boosted antioxidant levels and lowered inflammatory signals, like TNF-α and IL-6. Plus, they even increased the good guy, IL-10.
The treatment also kept lung cells from growing out of control, reducing signs of cancer. Lung tissue looked healthier in mice treated with sericin and HQ, compared to those just given DEN. This dynamic duo could be a promising way to slow down lung cancer progression.
