Immersive Tech Joins a Brand‑Building Agency

The Many Acquires CatalystXR: A New Era of Participatory Technology

The Many, an agency that helps companies invite people into their ideas, has taken a big step by buying most of CatalystXR, an Australian studio that makes VR, AR and large‑scale interactive experiences. Jamie Gilroy, the founder of CatalystXR, will now lead the new partnership as a partner who focuses on participatory technology.

This move is part of The Many’s plan to grow worldwide. They already have offices in Los Angeles, Sydney and Victoria, and the acquisition adds a fresh layer of expertise that turns imagination into real tools.

CEO Damien Eley says the agency doesn’t want to broadcast; it wants people to step inside and explore.
“Immersive tech lets folks try an idea, learn it, and act on it,” he explains. This hands‑on approach is meant to replace passive advertising with active experience.

CatalystXR brings a decade of work, having completed over 300 projects in eight countries. Their clients include museums, hospitals, businesses, sports teams and training programs. The studio is known for using immersive tech not just as a gimmick but to achieve concrete goals like better training or deeper engagement.

Founder Jamie Gilroy notes that companies are now buying XR because it solves real problems, not just curiosity.
“We turn ideas into walkable environments where people can learn and act,” he says, highlighting the practical side of their work.

For The Many, this isn’t just adding another service; it’s building a system that lets organizations create ongoing engagement. Co‑founder Christian Jacobsen says the goal is to make participation a core capability, not just a campaign trick. CatalystXR’s tech will help turn that idea into something tangible.

Both firms will keep operating separately for now, but they’ll collaborate on projects. Eventually, the plan is to merge their work fully and offer a complete participatory technology package.
