Improving Hepatic Echinococcosis Care in Xinjiang
Xinjiang, ChinaSunday, December 29, 2024
The number of people getting tested and finding out they have this disease early has also gone up. That's great because early detection usually means better treatment.
The good news is that the number of people having complications after surgery, like leaking bile or the disease coming back, has gone down. But the bad news is that there's been an increase in serious bleeding during surgery.
Who gets this disease? Mostly it's herdsmen, but fewer students are getting it now. The cost of treatment has gone up too.
In summary, even though there are still some issues to work out, like the increased bleeding during surgery, the overall care for people with this liver disease has gotten better in the last 15 years.
