In‑Car Cinema: Imax Joins Forces with Goer Dynamics for Premium Vehicle Audio‑Video
Imax and the Chinese tech firm Goer Dynamics have joined hands to create a new in‑vehicle entertainment system that will carry the Imax name for the first time. The goal is to roll out production later this year and sell the product to high‑end car makers across China. The partnership is managed through Imax China, a Hong Kong‑listed branch of the U.S. company.
The system combines an exclusive Imax sound design with a fold‑down 4K HDR display.
- Audio: Ultra‑high dynamic range, powerful low‑frequency output, minimal distortion.
- Video: Custom imaging tech and smart light‑sensing to maintain picture quality amid changing lighting conditions.
To fit different car models, the package will come in several configurations, allowing automakers to mix and match speaker setups for mid‑range to luxury vehicles.
Goer Dynamics already has a strong foothold in the automotive world. Since its start in 2020, it has installed audio‑video solutions in almost three million new energy cars. Its product line includes well‑known brands such as Dynaudio, Xeo and Libratone.
For Imax, the deal is part of a wider strategy to move beyond movie theaters. The company has been expanding into live events, home entertainment and branded goods, all while keeping its high‑quality standards.
Imax China’s CEO: “As cars become more autonomous, buyers will look closely at entertainment options. The partnership with Goer Group gives Imax the chance to set a new benchmark in premium in‑vehicle media.”
Goer Dynamics’ CEO: “Autonomous driving is changing how people relate to cars. Collaborating with an iconic entertainment brand like Imax is timely and could shape future consumer choices.”
