Liquid Glass Toggle

Apple's latest update, iOS 26.1, introduces the Liquid Glass toggle, allowing users to switch between clear and tinted backgrounds for notifications and tab bars. This feature is located in Display & Brightness settings, alongside other accessibility options like increased contrast and reduced transparency.

Disable Swipe-to-Open Camera Gesture

Tired of accidentally opening the Camera app? iOS 26.1 now lets users disable the swipe-to-open gesture on the lock screen. This gesture can be turned off in Camera settings, preventing unwanted launches.

Expanded Language Support

The update brings Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation support for more languages:

  • Apple Intelligence: Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
  • AirPods Live Translation: Chinese (Mandarin simplified and traditional), Italian, Japanese, and Korean.

Apple TV+ Rebranded to Apple TV

Apple is rebranding its streaming service from Apple TV+ to Apple TV, complete with a new icon. The Settings app has also been updated with a Local Capture section, allowing users to choose where recordings are saved and toggle audio-only capture.

Other Enhancements

  • Improved alarm dismissal interface
  • Swipe gesture for changing songs in the Music app

iOS 26.1 is available for iPhone 11 and later models, including the iPhone SE 2 and iPhone Air.
