Ironheart's Mixed Reception: A Look at the Numbers and Reviews

Ironheart, the new Marvel series, has landed on Disney+ with a mix of praise and criticism. Right now, it has a 72% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is considered "Fresh" but not outstanding. This puts it in the same range as other recent Marvel shows like Echo (70%) and She-Hulk (79%). However, it's still above Secret Invasion, which has a "Rotten" score of 53%. When compared to other MCU TV shows, Ironheart falls a bit short. Most of them score in the 80s, with Loki, Hawkeye, and WandaVision all at 92%. Even Ms. Marvel has a higher score at 98%. For movies, Ironheart shares its score with Iron Man 2. It's better than Thor: The Dark World (67%) and The Incredible Hulk (68%), but not as high as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (73%) or Avengers: Age of Ultron (76%).

The audience seems to agree with the critics, giving it a 71% score. Reviews are mixed. Variety says Ironheart tries to tell too many stories at once and isn't very focused. Empire thinks the show hasn't fully taken off yet and needs some serious improvements for a second season. IGN calls it a "cynical addition" to the MCU. Even though the story is a bit predictable, the final episode is worth watching. Ironheart follows Riri Williams, a young genius inventor, as she returns to Chicago and gets involved with a mysterious character named Parker Robbins. The series explores the clash between technology and magic. It features a talented cast, including Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, and Alden Ehrenreich. The show was made during a busy time for Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, which might explain why it's not as strong as other Marvel projects. Still, a 72% score means it's not a total miss. If you're a Marvel fan, it's probably worth checking out.
