Is Video Calling the Future of Stroke Diagnosis?
Greater Manchester, EnglandSaturday, January 4, 2025
Doctors and paramedics used video calls to assess patients in the ambulance. This allowed experts to provide real-time advice and guidance, improving the overall care for suspected stroke patients. The project focused on making quick and accurate decisions, which is vital in critical situations like strokes.
However, there were challenges. Technical issues and connectivity problems sometimes disrupted these video calls, causing delays in care. Additionally, not all paramedics were comfortable using this new technology, which could slow down the process. Despite these hurdles, the PHVT system showed promise in helping emergency responders better diagnose and manage stroke cases before reaching the hospital.
