Jackson vs. Allen: Battle for AFC Championship Spot
Baltimore, USAMonday, January 13, 2025
Before the NFC games even started, the AFC divisional matchups were already set. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 22-10 and will play the winner between the Vikings and the Rams at home. The Washington Commanders became the first road team to win in the playoffs, defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20. They will face the Detroit Lions, who are the No. 1 seed.
Jackson and Allen are no strangers to each other. Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, led his team to a dominant 35-10 victory over the Bills earlier this season. Allen, despite not making the first-team All-Pro, is still a formidable opponent, having thrown for 272 yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos.
This isn't the first time we've seen such a lineup in the divisional round. Last year, the Chiefs beat the Bills, and the Ravens defeated the Texans. It's a repeat of the 2011-12 season when the Texans, Patriots, Ravens, and Broncos made it to the divisional round consecutively.
