Jaden Ivey’s Instagram Outburst Leads to Bulls Release
Chicago, Illinois, USATuesday, March 31, 2026
Ivey has talked openly this season about battling depression. In his latest posts, he expressed frustration with how some people react to religious messages, saying that the gospel is often misunderstood or dismissed. He said he was rehabbing his knee and trying to return to the court, but the organization had already sidelined him for the rest of the season after a knee injury.
Chicago acquired Ivey from Detroit in a three‑team trade on February 3. He had a contract that was set to expire at the end of the season, and his average performance was 8. 5 points per game over 37 outings. Despite the team's decision, coach Donovan expressed concern for Ivey’s well‑being and reiterated that the Bulls maintain certain standards they expect all players to follow.
