" The film, directed and written by Scott Cooper ("Crazy Heart, " "Hostiles"), is based on Warren Zanes' book, focusing on the creation of Springsteen's iconic 1982 album "Nebraska. " Filming is underway in New Jersey, New York, and Los Angeles, with a theatrical release planned for next year. "Nebraska" is a significant album in Springsteen's career, recorded on a 4-track recorder in his New Jersey bedroom without his band, The E Street Band.
