Jetstar's Big 787 Makeover: New Seats, WiFi, and Longer Routes
AUSTRALIAMonday, January 27, 2025
The biggest change is the new seats. Both economy and business class will get next-generation Recaro seats. In economy, expect seat-back holders for your devices, a power outlet, and adjustable headrests. Business class gets a "generous" recline and device holders. Plus, every seat will have a power outlet for charging.
Jetstar is also introducing inflight WiFi for the first time! You can stream movies or surf the web. And guess what? Removing those old seat-back screens will save fuel, making the flights more eco-friendly.
For the crew, there's a new lie-flat crew rest area at the rear of the plane. This means they can relax on longer flights, and it opens the door to new destinations like India or Sri Lanka. It also frees up seats, allowing Jetstar to sell more tickets.
The planes will get a fresh coat of paint too, matching the new Airbus A321LRs in the fleet.
