Jim Ross, a renowned wrestling commentator, has some inspiring news to share. He has successfully beaten colon cancer, just a month after undergoing surgery. He revealed this on his podcast, Grilling JR.
Feeling Good and Looking Ahead
Ross shared, "I'm feeling really good now. The cancer is gone, and I'm happy about that." He also expressed his excitement about attending the AEW: All In Texas event in July, stating, "I hope to make it to Texas. That's my plan."
A Serious Battle, A Positive Outcome
Colon cancer is a serious condition, but Ross is grateful that his experience was relatively smooth. He emphasized his good health and his determination to be part of the wrestling community again.
A Legend in Wrestling
At 73 years old, Ross is a WWE Hall of Famer, as well as a member of the NWA and Wrestling Observer Newsletter Halls of Fame. He has been working with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019.
A Familiar Fight
This isn't Ross's first encounter with cancer. In 2021, he battled skin cancer and announced he was "cancer-free" just two months after his diagnosis. He also expressed his eagerness to return to commentary for AEW.
Surgery and Recovery
Ross had surgery for his colon cancer on May 27. He described the procedure as "not too bad" and expected a one-week recovery. He even posted a selfie from the hospital, declaring, "Ready to kick this cancer out on its a--!"
