Joker's New Musical Adventure Tops Box Office!

The latest Joker movie, “Joker: Folie á Deux,” has taken the top spot at the box office on its opening day with $20 million in earnings. Directed by Todd Phillips, this psychological thriller is a sequel to the 2019 Oscar-winning film starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. This time around, there's an interesting twist – it’s a musical! Phoenix is joined by Lady Gaga, who plays his love interest Harley Quinn. According to some reviews, the singing might seem random, but that hasn’t stopped audiences from showing up. Despite costing $200 million to make, the film is expected to bring in around $47 million during its opening weekend in 4,102 theaters.

Meanwhile, “The Wild Robot” is still going strong in second place with close to $5 million on its second Friday. Based on a popular children’s book series, this sci-fi adventure has already earned over $50 million domestically. “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” now in its fifth week, took third place with $2.7 million. The psychological horror “Speak No Evil” made its debut in fifth place, earning $840,000. And “Transformers One” held onto the fourth spot with a $1.37 million take.
