A recent clip from a Dirty Boxing event shows Jon Jones telling a fan about severe arthritis and possible hip replacement surgery. The video was filmed without his knowledge, which has sparked debate.  

Daniel Cormier, a former opponent, is skeptical that Jones was unaware of the recording. He argues that Meta glasses used for filming are hard to hide and that Jones, who is well‑known in the public eye, would likely notice being recorded. Cormier also doubts that Jones shared such personal health details with a random fan, especially about a potential wrestling match.  

While Cormier does not deny the seriousness of Jones’ injuries, he believes the fighter is revealing them deliberately to shape public perception. According to Cormier, Jones may be trying to signal that his fighting days are over, perhaps in response to repeated rejections from UFC president Dana White for a spot on the White House card.  

Jones has already turned down a heavyweight title fight against Tom Aspinall but later changed his mind after the White House announcement. If he does not compete at that event, it could mark his final bout in the UFC.  

Cormier’s comments suggest he sees Jones accepting that his body can no longer handle the demands of combat sports. He believes a wrestling match between them would be unrealistic and that fans should prepare for the possibility of Jones retiring.
