Jon Stewart Backs Comedian's Trump Rally Joke
New York City, USAWednesday, October 30, 2024
Stewart acknowledged that having a roast comedian at a political rally near Election Day might not have been the best move. However, he also pointed out that Hinchcliffe was simply doing what he does best: making edgy jokes. To illustrate this, Stewart aired clips from a Tom Brady roast where Hinchcliffe made jokes about various groups, including Jews and African Americans. Stewart pretended to be shocked by these jokes, but his laughter gave away his amusement.
Stewart concluded that he finds Hinchcliffe’s humor funny and defensible. He noted that expecting a comedian not to make roast jokes at a rally is like asking Beyoncé not to perform when she’s the special guest, referencing a recent Harris campaign rally where Beyoncé didn’t sing.
