Jurassic Discovery: Dinosaur Tracks Unveiled in England
Oxfordshire, United KingdomFriday, January 3, 2025
One interesting spot where the tracks intersect suggests possible encounters between the predators and their prey. Scientists are excited because even after 200 years of studying Megalosaurus, new evidence keeps surfacing.
In the 1990s, a nearby limestone quarry revealed 40 sets of footprints, but access is limited today. The new site was documented with over 20, 000 digital images and 3D models using drones. This will help future studies determine dinosaur sizes, walking patterns, and speeds.
The findings will be showcased in an upcoming exhibit at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History and on the BBC’s “Digging for Britain” program.
