Katya Takes a Break to Heal: Show Postponed

Katya Zamolodchikova, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has pushed back an upcoming live podcast show after undergoing a medical procedure. The event, part of Netflix’s “Is a Joke” festival in Los Angeles, was originally scheduled for May 9 and would have featured Katya and comedian Trixie Mattel recording their popular podcast “The Bald and the Beautiful.” A special appearance by Dan Levy was also planned.

Announcement

On May 5, both performers shared an Instagram story announcing the postponement. They thanked fans for their patience and confirmed that tickets would remain valid until a new date is set.

Recovery Update

Earlier in the month, Katya posted a photo from the hospital wearing a nasal cannula. She humorously referred to herself as being “in body jail” and later updated that she had been discharged, expressing gratitude for the support received.

Current Tour

Katya and Trixie are touring with “The Bald and the Beautiful Live,” offering audiences insightful chats, PowerPoint slides, and reflections on beauty and pop culture. Their next performances are scheduled for May 16 and 17 in Boston.

Past Challenges

Two years ago, Katya had to postpone shows again while seeking help for substance use. She highlighted the serious outcomes that can follow addiction and urged people to address their health early.
