Kendrick Lamar's Surprise Album: A Look at GNX

Kendrick Lamar has just dropped his new album, "GNX, " out of the blue. This 12-track album features some big names like Jack Antonoff, SZA, and Kamasi Washington. Most of the tracks are Lamar's solo work, with only "Luther" and "Gloria" featuring SZA. The album includes "Heart Pt. 6, " a continuation of Lamar's popular series that Drake referenced in one of his diss tracks earlier this year. For months, people had been guessing that Lamar was cooking up something new. DJ Snake even hinted that Mustard might have worked on a few tracks and that Taylor Swift could make an appearance, but that didn't happen.

The album kicks off with "Wacced Out Murals, " where Lamar talks about his controversial Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. Many thought Lil Wayne should have gotten the gig because it was in his hometown of New Orleans. Lamar raps about how his hard work might have let Lil Wayne down, and how he's glad the haters are showing their faces. "GNX" comes at the end of a big year for Lamar. He made headlines with his feud with Drake and released several singles, one of which got nominated for both song and record of the year.
