Kennesaw Kicks Off Big Win Streak

The Kennesaw State Owls scored their first-ever Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) win, shocking everyone by beating the Liberty Flames 27-24. The Owls were heavy underdogs, sitting at 0-6 before this game, with a 27-point deficit predicted. Despite losing all previous 10 matches against FBS teams, the Owls pulled off a stunning victory. Quarterback Davis Bryson had a great night, completing 16 out of 20 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. This win marks a significant milestone, as it's the first time in 23 years that a team with a record of 0-5 or worse beat a team with a record of 5-0 or better. The last time the Owls beat a Division I team was nearly two years ago, against UT Martin.

Head coach Brian Bohannon has led the team for all 10 seasons. He praised his team's unity and resilience, saying they believed in each other and knew something good would happen eventually. "We didn’t know when, " he said, "but I couldn’t be prouder of this team tonight. " For Liberty, this loss is a significant setback. It's the first regular-season loss under head coach Jamey Chadwell, which could impact their hopes of being the highest-ranked Group of Five team and earning an automatic bid in the new 12-team playoffs. Liberty started strong, scoring on their opening drive. However, Kennesaw State tied the game in the first quarter and took the lead in the second. The defining moment came in the third quarter when Qua Ashley scored a six-yard touchdown run, giving the Owls a lead they never gave up. Two field goals in the fourth quarter extended the lead, and despite Liberty's efforts, they couldn't catch up.
