Kids Explore Space and Shipwrecks During Spring Break at Two Museum Spots

Traverse City, Michigan, USAFriday, March 20, 2026

The Great Lakes Children’s Museum is adding a second temporary location to accommodate the busy spring‑break season. From March 27 to April 4, visitors can explore a brand‑new, space‑themed site in the Grand Traverse Mall. The setup invites kids to build, experiment, and ask questions about astronomy and other STEM topics in a hands‑on makerspace.

Meanwhile, the main museum—also located inside the mall—opens its Shipwreck at Curiosity Bay exhibit. This interactive display brings Great Lakes maritime history to life, letting families learn about local shipwreck stories through engaging activities.

A single $12 ticket grants entry to both locations, providing families with a comprehensive experience at one price. The museum notes that this is their busiest week, and adding a second spot allows more people to join the learning fun.

Celebrating 25 years of hands‑on education, the museum offers camps, clubs, and special events all year long. To learn more, visit greatlakeskids.org or call 231‑932‑4526.
