Kids Teach Us How to Stay Safe from Lead

In the Panhandle Health District, kids are becoming little health heroes! Each spring, the district's Lead Health Intervention Program visits schools to teach third to fifth graders about lead exposure. This year, students from Harrison Elementary, Pinehurst Elementary, and Silver Valley Christian Academy created posters to show what they've learned. A total of 58 posters were submitted, with winners including Roscoe Rauch from Harrison Elementary and Hyrum Creswell and Madison Johnson from Pinehurst Elementary.

These posters were displayed during Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, which ran from October 20 to 26, and will remain on display until November 8. The public can see these creative works at the PHD's Kellogg office from Monday to Friday, 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. It's great to see kids taking the lead (pun intended! ) in raising awareness about lead exposure. Their posters not only showcase their learning but also serve as reminders for the community.
