Kids' Views on COVID-19: Resilience and Agency in Israeli Families

Imagine being a young child in Israel during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study peeks into the lives of 50 Israeli kids aged 3 to 6, from middle to high socioeconomic backgrounds. Using a card game to talk to them, researchers found out how they dealt with the pandemic. They noticed four big themes: how kids found out about the virus, what they knew about it, how parents helped or restricted their understanding, and how kids wanted to fight against it.

Israel had some of the toughest COVID-19 rules in the world, and it's known for its high security measures. This study uses something called Multisystem Theory to look at how these factors affected kids. It shows how kids can turn tough times into strength and confidence. By understanding how national rules and family life mix, we can better grasp what young kids went through during the pandemic.
