After the confrontation, Bass clarified she had used a military plane and could communicate during the journey. She later toured the affected area with Gov. Gavin Newsom, noting the "staggering" damage. Celebrities like Billy Crystal, Adam Brody, and Mandy Moore lost their homes, and at least five people died. Bass acknowledged the firefighters' efforts on social media, thanking them for their work.
