Lakers' Late-Game Magic: A Thrilling Comeback
Los Angeles, USAFriday, March 7, 2025
Austin Reaves had a tough night, shooting just 2-13 from the field. He did hit a big 3-pointer in overtime, but that was about the only positive from him. His performance was disappointing, and he will need to step up in future games.
Luka Dončić had a huge performance with 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 12 assists. He made some big shots and set up some key plays. His 3-pointer over KAT that forced a timeout was an absolutely enormous shot and put the Lakers in control from the jump over the extra session. It wasn't a flawless night, but it was still a huge performance from him.
Jarred Vanderbilt had a quiet night, playing just 17 minutes and scoring 2 points. He struggled to get into the game and didn't make much of an impact. He will need to step up in future games if he wants to see more playing time.
Dalton Knecht had a solid game with 11 points and 4 rebounds. He's been finding his footing again and is a key player off the bench. His defense is still a work in progress, but he can still compete on the ball and if he's knocking down shots, then he deserves to keep getting playing time.
Gabe Vincent had an incredible night, scoring 12 points and shooting 4-4 from 3-point range. He made some huge pressure shots in the fourth quarter and was a key player in the win. His performance was a testament to his value on the team.
Trey Jemison III had a quiet night, playing just 13 minutes and scoring 7 points. He struggled to keep up with the pace of the game, which explains why he played the fewest minutes on the team.
JJ Redick had a great feel for what lineups to go to late in games. He did a great job blitzing Jalen Brunson in the final possession of regulation and forcing someone else to beat them, which the Knicks couldn't do.
