Liam Payne's Producer Puts Brakes on Posthumous Song Release

A music producer planning to release a song by the late Liam Payne has decided to delay the release. Sam Pounds, who worked with Payne, initially announced the song "Do No Wrong" would come out this Friday. However, after Payne's sudden death in Argentina, Pounds changed his mind. He wants the family to decide what to do with the song and its profits. "It’s still too soon for this, " Pounds said on Tuesday. "We all need time to mourn and heal. " The posthumous single was meant to be a comfort to Payne’s family, including his sister Ruth Gibbins and his 7-year-old son, Bear. Pounds had earlier shared that he hoped the song would be a blessing and comfort to those who loved Payne. He also asked fans to be a blessing to others as they mourn.

Payne passed away at age 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony in Argentina. Reports say he was distressed and intoxicated. An autopsy revealed numerous injuries consistent with a fall from height. Reports suggest he had a drug known as "pink cocaine" in his system. Payne first became famous in 2010 when he joined the boy band One Direction. After the band took a break in 2016, Payne started his solo career. His first single, "Strip That Down" featuring Quavo, reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. His solo album "LP1" also did well, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart in 2019.
