Nigeria's vibrant mix of cultures and religions often triggers severe judgment against those who identify differently to what is commonly seen as the norm.  This leads to harsh treatment and unfair policies that are painfully obvious to queer men.  These men face years of unfair treatment.  Unhealthy and unfair treatment can impact important factors that help people live happy lives, like their personality and mental state.  In the above case the health and overall well-being of Nigerian queer men. These issues have been a topic of study by a number of studies.  Which led to the question of how social work can play a role in this issue?  This study was to try and figure out what queer men in Nigeria are going through day to day.  Nigeria's societal Norms have an effect on how social work addresses issues like these.  It is quite possible that social work in Nigeria will have trouble with these groups.  Laws that support these ideas are making it harder for queer men to get the social help they need. The Nigerian society, laws and the social work environment is not helping the fight against these issues.  Queer men in the country try to focus on their health and how they feel mentally. This takes a lot of effort.  Why is this issue not being taken seriously in this day and age?  LGBTQ+ people around the globe face a lot of the same issues.  But most are in much better places.  The World Health Organization has said that queer men are more likely to have depression, anxiety and even go through with suicide. This is a big problem in Nigeria.  These studies are not as common.  Which leaves many to wonder why is Nigeria's LGBTQ+ community not being looked at like other countries.  As the world progresses, it is important to remember that everyone deserves to be treated equally.  This is the first step to stopping these issues.  Which is why social work and other studies should keep looking at these issues.  These mental health issues have a wide range of causes.  Which is why it is very important to get it under control.

        Social workers deal with many different people.  This includes LGBTQ+ people.  The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that queer men have a higher chance of feeling depressed, being nervous, and having other mental health issues. This is due to many reasons.  All human beings deserve to be respected.  But this is not happening.  Nigerians who live in LGBTQ+ communities need help.  These people are going through a lot of things.  There are a few questions that people should ask themselves.  Should people with different sexual backgrounds be treated differently?  Why do you think that the Nigerian government continues to ignore this issue?  Is it because of their culture or religion?  Or is it simply ignorance?  As we continue to do more studies, it is important to keep the health and well-being of this community in mind.  This includes the how they feel mentally and physically.  As we learn more about the issues that LGBTQ+ people face, it is important to keep the health and well-being in mind.

        It is possible to have a civilized society.  Where people can be who they want to be regardless of who they are.  Without being judged.  Or treated unfairly.  The LGBTQ+ community faces a lot of issues in Nigeria.  This is mostly due to how they are treated in society.  And how they are treated by the law.  This is a serious issue.  Which is why the Nigerian government needs to address it.  All human beings deserve to be treated equally.  But this is not happening in Nigeria.  This is a problem.  Which is why it is important to treat the LGBTQ+ community with respect.  Which is why it is important to treat the LGBTQ+ community with respect.  Relationships are a big part of life.  As a society, it is important to teach people to be kind to each other.  To not judge people based on their sexual orientation or gender.  Which is what we are trying to do here.

It is important to build programs that help LGBTQ+ people.  They can help with mental health.  They can help with basic needs.  People need to learn how to support these communities. Which is why it is important to give support to these communities.  This can help people live their lives.  Feeling safe and secure in their own skin.  This will help with mental health.  Which is a big problem for LGBTQ+ people in Nigeria.

        This issue is not going away.  Which is why it is important to find a solution.  If someone is feeling hurt, or is in need of help, it is important to reach out to them.  This will help them feel a sense of relief.   People need to be educated on how to treat people who are different.  This is not just an issue for the LGBTQ+ community.  It is an issue for everyone.
