Lightning's Point Scores Hat-Trick in Surprising Way
Tampa Bay, USAThursday, November 28, 2024
Point commented that mistakes happen in the game and Lindgren received support from his teammates. Before Lindgren's gaffe, Tampa Bay had led for most of the game with Point and Michael Eyssimont scoring early goals. However, the Capitals evened the score with goals from Andrew Mangiapane, Aliaksei Protas, and Dylan Strome. Point's hat-trick temporarily put the Lightning ahead, but the Capitals reclaimed the lead and secured the win.
Tampa Bay's coach Jon Cooper, marking his 900th NHL game, acknowledged that both teams played well. The Capitals improved their season record to 15-6-1, while the Lightning dropped to 11-8-2.
