Logan Lucky on Netflix: A Hilarious Ride with an Ageless Joke

Steven Soderbergh's Logan Lucky, a 2017 comedy now streaming on Netflix, is a masterclass in humor that has only grown funnier with time. The plot revolves around the brothers' attempt to pull off a heist at Charlotte Motor Speedway, requiring delicate timing, a complicated prison escape, misdirection, and the perfect team. Daniel Craig, two years before his starring role in Knives Out, plays Joe Bang, a temperamental demolitions expert with a knack for explosives and a Foghorn Leghorn-like voice. Soderbergh's recognition of Craig's comedic talents is evident in this role, which could easily be a Knives Out spinoff. The film reaches its peak in a hilarious scene during a staged prison riot, where prisoners demand a copy of George R.R. Martin's The Winds of Winter. The joke, which has nothing to do with the movie, has only grown funnier over time, especially considering the ongoing wait for the next A Song of Ice and Fire book.
