Lt. Gov. Robinson Sues CNN Over Controversial Report
Raleigh, NC, USAWednesday, October 16, 2024
The controversial report suggests Robinson made disturbing statements more than a decade ago, including referring to himself as a "black NAZI" and expressing preferences for transgender pornography. The comments also allegedly criticized prominent figures like Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and even hinted at supporting slavery.
Robinson has steadfastly denied these claims and has hired a law firm to investigate. His attorney, Jesse Binnall, views the situation as election interference by a left-wing media outlet. The CNN report has led to the resignation of many of Robinson’s campaign staff and some from his lieutenant governor's office.
Robinson’s opponent, Attorney General Josh Stein, expressed his doubts about the lawsuit's prospects during a meet-and-greet in Hickory. Stein said, "I would be shocked" if anything substantial comes from the case. Additionally, a former adult video store employee, who had previously accused Robinson of frequenting a porn shop, is also being sued.
