A Shining Star on Multiple Stages

Misty Coolidge, a resident of New Gloucester, Maine, recently made waves by winning the title of Mrs. USA. This isn't her first time shining on a big stage. She previously won Mrs. Worldwide in 2022.

By day, she runs Coolidge Family Farm, a popular wedding venue in southern Maine. But her real passion lies in fighting hunger, a cause she's been dedicated to for over two decades.

A Personal Connection to the Cause

Growing up in a home where food was scarce, Coolidge knows firsthand the struggles of food insecurity. She's been on a mission to tackle this issue locally, nationally, and even globally.

Her efforts have earned her recognition, including Gold Presidential Service Awards for volunteering over 500 hours each year in 2023 and 2024. She's also an ambassador for Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn, where she volunteers regularly.

A National and Global Impact

Coolidge's commitment to ending hunger goes beyond her local community. In 2021, she embarked on an ambitious journey as an Ambassador for Feeding America. Her goal? To volunteer at a food bank in each of the 50 states. So far, she's visited 38 states and aims to complete the remaining 12 by 2026.

Her impact extends globally too, with trips to 17 countries through the Global FoodBanking Network. She's helped provide over 244,000 pounds of food, making a real difference in the lives of many.

Unique Fundraising Events

One of her most unique fundraising events is the biennial "Running of the Brides 5K for Hunger". Participants dress up in wedding gowns and walk a 3-mile loop around New Gloucester. This event is just one of many ways Coolidge raises funds and awareness for hunger relief.

Plans as Mrs. USA

As Mrs. USA, Coolidge plans to use her platform to continue her fight against hunger and food insecurity. She intends to travel across the country and around the world, supporting various nonprofit organizations at events like galas, 5Ks, luncheons, and walkathons.

She also hopes to share her story on a national talk show and open her own soup kitchen. Her dedication and passion are truly inspiring, showing that one person can make a significant impact.
