Marquise Brown's Faith and Football Journey
College of the Canyons, Santa ClaritaMonday, February 3, 2025
His ethnic background is Black American, and his Christian beliefs have been a huge part of his life. His faith in God is a big influence on everything he does. This was especially evident during his college football days. After a game against Baylor, a young fan asked Brown to swap wristbands. Brown gave the kid a wristband that said “Believe” and “Oklahoma, ” and in return, the kid gave him a red band with “Romans 1:16” and “Not ashamed” written on it. Brown was touched by this exchange and has kept that wristband ever since. He wears it for motivation and as a symbol of his faith. Two of his favorite wristbands have phrases, “To God be the glory, ” and “GOD IS BIG ENOUGH” written on them. For Brown, these wristbands are a reminder that his faith and football are interconnected. Sacrificing something for God and the game is a lesson that every religion teaches us.
Brown's story reminds us that success isn't measured in inches and pounds but in heart and hustle. His journey is a testament to the power of determination and unwavering family support. It's a reminder that sometimes, the most powerful fuel for success comes from the people who believe in you when others don’t. This is why Brown's faith and family have been a crucial part of his journey. He is a true American at heart, living the dream!
