Measuring Language Complexity: Do All Methods Point to the Same Thing?

Ever wondered how complex a language can be? Scientists have come up with eight different ways to measure this. Some of these methods need lots of special details from the language examples, while others don’t. These methods seem to agree on some things and disagree on others. When we look at them closely using a method called principal component analysis, we find that most of the time, they all point to the same underlying factor.
