Medicaid Portals to Restart Soon, White House Assures
Wednesday, January 29, 2025
Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut also expressed worry, stating that Connecticut's Medicaid payment system had been turned off. This outage meant that healthcare providers and hospitals couldn't receive payments. Discussions were ongoing to determine if services could continue unaffected. Senator Brian Schatz from Hawaii tweeted that this situation was effectively a "Trump shutdown, " but noted it was unlawful.
The White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, addressed the issue by confirming the outage. However, she reassured the public that payments were still being processed and sent. Leavitt added that the White House expected the portal to be back online soon.
