Meet Marlon Humphrey's Parents: A Football Star and a Track Legend

Marlon Humphrey, a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens, owes his success to his parents. His dad, Bobby Humphrey, was a running back for the Denver Broncos. Bobby played college football at the University of Alabama, where he made a big name for himself. He was drafted by the Broncos in 1989 and had two great seasons. Unfortunately, he had a contract dispute and was traded away. After his NFL career, Bobby got a degree in social work and became a coach and administrator.

Marlon's mom, Barbara Humphrey, was also an athlete. She ran track and field at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and still holds the school record in the 400 meters. She now coaches track at Simmons Middle School and runs a summer track club in Birmingham. Barbara encouraged Marlon to get his degree, even when he was already a successful NFL player. Both parents supported Marlon's football career and emphasized the importance of education. Their guidance helped Marlon become a successful NFL player.
