Meet the New Education Chief: Former WWE CEO Joins Trump's Team

Ever heard of Linda McMahon? She's not just the wife of WWE's big boss, Vince McMahon. She's also got some serious business and political experience under her belt. Now, she's been tapped by Donald Trump to lead the U. S. Department of Education. This isn't her first rodeo in politics, though. She's run for Senate in Connecticut twice but didn't win. Trump thinks McMahon's the perfect fit for this job. He believes her years of leadership and understanding of both education and business will help students and workers in the U. S. become the best in the world. Trump wants to give more power to states when it comes to education, and he's counting on McMahon to make that happen.

McMahon and Trump have worked together before. She supported his campaign in 2016 and then became the Administrator of the Small Business Administration during his first term. Trump's pick for Education Secretary comes after he promised to shut down the Department of Education. He thinks schools are teaching kids stuff that's not appropriate. To fix this, he wants to cut funding to schools that teach things like Critical Race Theory and other topics he doesn't agree with. Trump's also made some other interesting choices for his administration. For example, he picked Dr. Mehmet Oz to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Matt Gaetz to be the Attorney General. Both choices have raised some eyebrows.
