Meet Weiwei: The Chinese Golfer You Should Know

Weiwei, a 27-year-old from Hubei, China, has been making waves in the golf world for the past two years. She debuted in 2022 and has since played in 40 LPGA events, making the cut 12 times. One of her standout performances was at the 2022 AmazingCre Portland Classic, where she scored -14 and finished in the top 10. With six top-25 finishes under her belt, Weiwei is steadily making her mark on the LPGA Tour. Before she hit the big stage, Weiwei was a star in the local circuit. Born in 1997, she picked up golf at the age of 9, thanks to her dad. By 13, she was playing in CLPGA tournaments. Her first win came in 2017 at the Zhuhai Hengqin Phoenix Tree Building Challenge, where she shot a 3-under par 72. Her career kicked into high gear when she turned pro in the same year.
