Mel Gibson Talks About His Scoliosis and Why He Avoids Back Surgery

Hollywood legend Mel Gibson recently shared some interesting details about his health on Joe Rogan's podcast. He revealed that he was born with scoliosis, a condition where the spine curves sideways. Gibson mentioned that his action-packed career and personal choices have added to his back issues. Despite these problems, he has no plans to go under the knife. The reason? He worries that surgery could make things worse.

Gibson explained that he's looking for alternative treatments. He even quoted Hippocrates, saying, "In any ailment, look first to the spine. " Joe Rogan, who has also dealt with back pain, agreed with Gibson's view. He believes that once you have back problems, everything else can get messed up, no matter how strong you are. It's not just back issues that Gibson has faced. He also battled COVID-19 during the first wave of the pandemic and spent a week in the hospital. Fortunately, it wasn't too serious. More recently, he was seen with a leg brace and a cane, but he's still active and making movies at 69.
