Mets Move Game Times Ahead of Cold Weather

Citi Field, Queens, USATuesday, April 7, 2026
The New York Mets have shifted the start times for two home games this week because of a coming cold front. Fans were told that the matches against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 7 and April 8 will now begin at 4:10 p. m. instead of the original 7:10 p. m. start. This change is meant to protect players and supporters from the expected chill and wind coming into Citi Field. According to weather forecasts, Tuesday night will bring mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to 31 degrees and winds from the NNW at about 15–25 mph.
Wednesday night will also be clear, with a slightly warmer low of around 35 degrees and lighter southeast winds of 10–15 mph. The Mets are offering a small number of free tickets for both games, and those who already bought seats will still be honored. Additionally, ticket holders will receive a voucher for a future game as a thank‑you for their flexibility. Gate openings are scheduled for 3:10 p. m. , while parking will be available from 2:40 p. m. for both days, giving fans plenty of time to arrive before the early start.
