The game stayed tight until the very end, with Miami of Ohio pulling ahead in the final seconds. A late lay‑up by Trey Perry sealed a 69‑67 win over Western Michigan, keeping Miami’s undefeated season alive.  

Miami entered the contest with a 16‑0 record in their conference and had already set a new school mark for consecutive wins. Their streak now stretches to 29 games, the longest in the program’s history and a record for their conference.  

Peter Suder led the RedHawks with 18 points before fouling out, while Almar Atlason added 16 and Eian Elmer chipped in ten. Miami’s balanced attack saw several players contribute double‑digit scores.  

Western Michigan struggled to find rhythm, finishing 10‑19 overall and 4‑12 in conference play. Jayden Brewer was the top performer, tallying 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds; Justice Williams and EJ Ryans each added 14.  

The first half saw Miami trailing by four, but they fought back to tie the game at 49 with just over eleven minutes left. Western Michigan later pulled ahead by nine, but Miami clawed back to take a narrow lead with just 14 seconds remaining.  

Elmer’s free throw extended the advantage, yet Western Michigan answered quickly with a late basket from Williams. The game stayed alive until Perry’s decisive shot in the final second.  

Miami will face Toledo next, while Western Michigan prepares to host Ball State. The RedHawks’ resilience in close games remains a key factor as they continue their historic run.
